We decided to go to Pittsfield State Park instead. The map showed Potter Mountain Road to be a cut-through from Lanesborough back to Hancock. We started down, it was packed dirt. The further we got on the road, the worse the conditions were. By the time we were 2/3 the way through the 5 mile road, the ruts were 8" deep and Mike was just trying to keep the car out of them. Yikes!
We made our way back to camp and socialized a bit before beginning preparations of the scalloped potatoes we are taking to an 18 person dinner tonight.
The skies have been grey off and on, and we knew a storm was coming on. Around 3:30, the rain let loose. At first glance you don't see the rain; take a look at the roofs of the trailers and vehicles.
The view of the pavilion shows it pretty well.
Rain was POURING off our awning.
Randy doesn't look too happy...
Lucky for us, the event passed quickly. In about 30 minutes everything was back to normal. now, just an hour and a half later the birds are singing their little hearts out.
Have a happy weekend!
