Out and About

Today is one of intermittent storms. We woke up at 3:30 am to heavy rain and wind. Mike was worried our awning would blow off, but fortunately all was well. Due to the forecast, the potential trip out with Mark and Paul today was canceled.

We didn't want to sit on our tushies in the camper all day, so Mike found a nice hike on the Cascades Trail. We set off in pretty iffy weather, hoping that the hike would be worthwhile and we would not get caught in the rain.

The path was well trodden and make for an easy hike. The view was beautiful when we reached the end.

We got rained on a bit, but it was fine. Mike had fun walking up closer to the falls.

I had fun, too.

We wanted to make the most of our outing, so we decided to visit Mass MoCA after our hike. I must admit to you a simple truth about me: I just dont "get" contemporary art. It didn't feel like art to me, it was just stuff that someone decided was art. There were pieces I liked, but for the most part I was mystified. The same thing happened when we visited the ICA (institute of contemporary art) in Boston. I must just be culturally ignorant.

We're back at camp putzing around now. We are actually doing some laundry, a BVR first for us.

Hope your day is a happy one!

  1. Tracy , I agree with you on the art ... some of it looks like something someone found on the side of the road and decided to call it art ....I wonder if the " artists " actualy recive payment for some of this art...I may be in the wrong line of work ....sju
