Back Home

This post will be a little long, mostly because of pictures (not text)... Mike picked me up at Albany airport around 11:30 Saturday night. My flight was delayed for three hours. I met a lovely couple from Burlington, Vermont while I was sitting at Midway (they were on my flight). Check back tomorrow and next week for more on that. We finally got back to camp after midnight. We stayed up and visited for a while, then finally went to bed.

We had a leisurely morning at camp on Sunday, then headed home around noon. I got home to see the rhodies in full bloom and had to take pictures right away!

Rhodies from Deirdre last year for our birthdays...

An offshot transplant from another rhodie. Doesn't it look good! We planted it 3 years ago...

In the front of the house.

By the street in front of the house.

Other plants are in bloom, too...

Irises in the front yard

Chives in the Japanese Garden (we MUST eat these some day).

Irises by the patio. They're late this year.

Firewitch, pretty :)

Mattie assisted us with the yard walk and photographs. He is such a cutie.

Checking out the Scottish Thistle

I nearly always have my eyes closed for photos; Mattie almost always has his tongue out.

Photographing him in the yard is particularly difficult because he always wants to walk over to me when I bend down to take his picture!

After yard walking, we did some errands, then I began a little project... Upgrading my hard drive in the Macbook from a 60GB to a 250GB drive. It was so easy... If you are into Macs and want to know, email me.

As I was working on it, Mattie provided a bit of entertainment. I was talking to John about what I needed to do, and I heard a meow. There was Mattie at the back door, and a chipmunk halfway up the screen! Apparently, there had been an unobserved chased that culminated on the back door.

I called Mike into the room and grabbed the camera. By that time, he was at the top of the door.

Mattie was, clearly, obsessed.

Mike opened the back door, the chipmunk jumped off, then Mike yelled "Aaargh!!" to try to save the chipmunk.

Apparently the chipmunk went under the siding. Mattie waited.

Then the little guy ran for safety in the window well.

Lucky for him, Mattie likes to just play. All ended well.

Have a happy day!
