Mike and I celebrated my birthday yesterday. Why a day early? Well, we have town meeting tonight and feel it is our civic duty to attend. Since we leave for work at 6:15 am, and will only have an hour tonight between getting home and going to town meeting, it made sense to do my birthday early.
Here are my gifts before opening:
Mike and I thought it would be a nice opportunity to use our new camcorder (our joint birthday gift) to make a video --warning, it is kind of dull if you are not me.
I got these beautiful gifts! From left to right: handmade soap, tea, and a handmade mug from Melissa; a handmade bag and matching wallet, huge soup cups, and beautiful matching bowl from Mom and Brian, and a lovely card (and money) from my Grandparents.
Thank you so much everyone! I appreciate your thought and love.
After gift opening, Mike took me out the restaurant of my choice: The Sole Proprietor. I had a delicious meal of Tuna Steak Sashimi and Mike had North Atlantic Haddock Newburg. Both were fantastic.
He insisted I get desert. I ordered Flan and look at how beautifully it was presented. What a great job -- I never could have written Happy Birthday so nicely :)
We spent the remainder of the evening relaxing (my choice) and recovering from the busy weekend -- more about that tomorrow.
This morning I awoke to beautiful and thoughtful e-cards from Mom and Brian, Melissa and Serena, Deb and Paul, Jean and Bob, Nicky, Debbie, and of course, My Honey. What a lovely start!
As I was getting ready, looked outside to see two bunnies sitting in the yard. They were hanging out -- I think protecting their nest -- and I felt they came to wish me a special day... Something funny about the photo...
This is third in my series, taken at 5:58 am. It was not that dark to my human eye.
I did extensive manual editing in one photo package, then did some auto-correcting in Picasa. What an amazing difference! Thank goodness for computers!
I am sure the rest of my day will be splendid. My moods so far can be likened to weather: sunny, partly cloudy, and lightening. I am blessed with being a woman on my birthday (you know what I mean) and the accompanying moodiness. I am looking forward to a sunny forecast!
And last, but certainly, not least, Happy Birthday Father Roger! We share this date and hold each other dear.
Smiles!
