What a Beautiful Thing: Commuting to Boston Metro

Well, I am being a bit facicious today. For whatever reason, traffic was a snarled nightmare this morning. I left the house at 8 am and did not arrive at work until 9:45 am. My normal commute was more than twice as long as usual, for no apparent reason.

I finally arrived in Framingham after the 45 minute ride down I-290 to I-495 to I-90. I jumped onto Route 9 instead and continued my journey for another hour. As I sat in the car, I grumpily thought "This SUCKS!!!". Then the picture (to the right) popped into my head.I have to tell you, I really started cracking up. I thought, well, I can sit here and be grouchy for the rest of the ride, or I can make the best of it and just ride it out in peace. So, that is what I did. I didn't love it, but I did get to listen to lots of music.
One thing I have learned (after much pain) over the years is that if I bring a thermal cup of morning wake up juice in the car, I cannot drink it right away. On rides like this morning, I would never make it. I would have to pull over and run into the woods or something before I sprung a leak. Scary... Thinking about that made me laugh, too.
I guess the good news is that my day will go faster!
