Pet Rock Festival

Even though Labor Day has come and gone, summer events are not over. The 10th annual Pet Rock Festival will take place at Quinsigamond Community College (Worcester, MA) on Sunday, September 14. An informational video about the event is below.

from Pet Rock Festival:
WHAT IS THE PET ROCK FESTIVAL?

Pet Rock Fest - held Sept. 14, 2008, at Quinsigamond Community College - is an annual festival that promotes kindness to animals. Sponsored by: Oldies 103.3, Worcester Magazine, Charter Communications and EJ Candies, this expo features hundreds of tables, including breed rescues, shelters, animal welfare organizations and more. It's a see and be seen event for you and your dog to attend, but one that benefits ALL types of animals.

TICKETS: $12 adults, $5 kids 12 and under

This family-friendly day includes an adoptable dog parade, contests, rabie clinic and low-cost microchipping, live music, a doggie water park, a cat photo contest, speakers, vendors, shows and food. It's a wonderful day for you and your leashed pet.
Just announced: Pet Rock is happy to welcome Danny Klein's Full House "Celebrating the Music of the J. Geils Band" this year to our lineup, which so far includes Pet Rock (the band) and The Howl.
Also, welcome back some of our favorites, as well as new attractions this year, which include the New England Trailblazers flyball team, a vegetarian food court sponsored by the Boston Vegetarian Society and much more. Visit our events page and entertainment page for updates and information. Visit our ever-growing list of animal organizations as well as vendors and sponsors attending this year, including Hanover Theatre, Especially for Pets and many others.

There are bunches and bunches of animal groups (shelters, rescue groups, and welfare orgs) that participate, including Second Chance Fund for Animal Welfare, Inc.(SCFAW). I've been volunteering for SCFAW for 5 years. They are a great organization that provides affordable spay and neuter services, medical care and support for catastrophic illness and injury, public education and counseling for people facing difficult animal situations.

Pet Rock also has a Cat Photo Contest. I have to look through my photos of Mattie to see if I have anything good to enter...

Have a Happy Day!
